Diminuitive Canoe Run Park sits between Semmes Avenue and Riverside Drive at West 22nd Street in South Richmond. The park opened in October 1990. Amenties include a gravel jogging trail and playground for small children. The open grass area hosts many flag football and kickball leagues. The land once was known as Tanners’ Bottom because of the tanneries that operated in the 19th century along Canoe Run Creek. The property was used as a landfill until the early 1980s.
