May 28, 2012 8:52am

Riverside Outfitters, which runs guided raft trips on the James River, will open an outpost on Brown’s Island on June 15 that will rent mountain bikes, sit-on-top kayaks and stand up paddleboards. See the full details in my story today in the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

The new shop will be open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through the summer

About Andy Thompson

I was the Outdoors Columnist at the Times-Dispatch from 2007 to 2013, writing twice a week about mountain biking, fishing, hunting, paddling and much more. I live a 1/4 mile from the James River, close enough to see bald eagles soaring over my house on their way to find a meal. Pretty cool, eh?
